YOU GUYS- The fall apparel has just been flowing onto my doorstep lately and I cannot, I repeat CANNOT, contain the joy in my little old heart. It’s still consistently warm here in the South and it will be for awhile BUT there’s a chill in the air some mornings that I haven’t felt since March and that alone is reason to celebrate. Want to guess how many fall scented candles I have burning in my apartment right now??
Ugh, fine, twist my arm. There’s seven. Please don’t alert the fire marshall.
If you haven’t already gathered (you need to get your inference skills in check), fall is by far my favorite season, not only for the weather but also the fact that it caters to my job in fashion quite nicely. Autumn is the most fashionable time of year in my humble opinion and starting to style sweaters and layering pieces always has me excited, even if I have to sweat my buns off shooting them. I’m going to be sharing quite a few killer fall collections in the coming weeks and first up to the plate we have Willow & Clay with their Fall 2018 “American Beauty” collection.
This collection has hints of menswear inspired pieces as well as a really cool western-chic vibe. The first look I put together features these killer plaid pants. You guys know I bought everything plaid I could get my hands on last year and I’m just going to keep this train a-rollin. I love these because they have a more fitted/legging feel which makes them super comfortable and they will look so cute with oversized sweaters. For a lighter transition feel, I paired it with this lightweight turtleneck, which might just be the best layering piece I’ve scored so far this season.
For the second look, I decided to dive into this western-inspired trend and let me tell you, it’s all in the details. I adore this studded detailing on this suede skirt and the ruffle sleeves on the sweater. Don’t be afraid to mix up patterns and textures this fall because they are coming in abundance.
