I don’t know about anyone else, but I am head over heels for the whole idea of bralettes and the fact that they are so in right now. I mean, any instance where I don’t have to wear a real bra is beyond fine by me, not to mention there are so many cute ones floating around nowadays. Whether you are looking to layer them under show-y tanks, cozy sweaters, backless dresses, what have you, these lace-y little things are the go-to. And let me tell ya, I’m all about it.
Kohl’s has recently become one of my favorite places to look for pretty bralettes that absolutely don’t break the bank. Raise your hand if you can get behind that concept. Ehem, you’re raising your hand at a computer screen. Welcome to the future, people.
Kohl’s has so many great brands and styles available and they challenged me to showcase 3 different ways that I like to style my bralettes. As you all know, I tend to gravitate toward neutrals, so it was only fitting that I went for bralettes that would fit all of my monochrome needs, if you will. Allow me to briefly walk you through the three different looks I put together. Come, come.
Look 1: I love the idea of unbuttoning just ooooone more button on your favorite button down and showing a little peek of lace. This black bralette is perfect under my favorite striped one. Oh, what’s that? A little professional, a little party? I like the sound of that.
Look 2: Just like unbuttoning a shirt, I love to layer bralettes under low cut sweaters like this one. I’m really digging the white on white look here and it gives a soft feel to an otherwise edgy outfit.
Look 3: Last but certainly not least, I got tired of styling, gave up, and just wore my third bralette as a top. KIDDING… mostly.
Hear me out here, in the summertime I am a huge advocate for this kind of look, especially when it is done tastefully. For example, I went for a wide strap, more substantial bralette and paired it with my highest waisted skinnies because I think the 90’s show-your-ENTIRE-midriff trend is long gone, right? Throw on a cool jacket and booties and voila! You’ve got yourself a sweet little get up.
